Protected marine areas in Campania
We have dedicated this section to illustrate the rules of behavior that the sailors have to observe approaching the protected marine areas in our area of interest. We are very careful to respect the marine ecosystem and the in force regulations. As well as we are taken to prevent our guests from unpleasant surprises during their navigation along the beautiful coast of Cilento and the Amalfi Coast, the islands of the Gulf of Naples, or the Pontine Islands because stopped by the maritime authorities while sailing, stopping or fishing in protected marine areas due to the lack the necessary instructions and information. So we decided to bring on our site the commendable initiative of the Associazione Nautica della Regione Campania which has created a map of the marine protected areas established along the coasts of Campania and the islands of Ponza and Ventotene.
We hope that the consultation of these pages constitutes a valid tool for information and integration to on-site signaling, sometimes too weak, for the protection of certain marine protected areas and to avoid activities such as sport fishing, professional and underwater, the anchorage or even the simple crossing of the those areas can trigger irreversible damage to the ecosystem.
We, therefore, re-elaborated in more accessible form of IT tools, such as the Internet platform through which we are reading, the print edition of protected marine areas, and we have translated this valuable and practical handbook also in English for those who are coming from abroad, are more familiar with this language and want to be informed about what is allowed to do along our coasts. To know, then, what is not allowed on our shores to protect the marine ecosystems of our coasts, see the cards that are available for you.
